As we are starting a new year .... there is something I really want to get off my chest ... I get a lot of comments on how I look ... how can you look so young in your age ... no , no it is not possible that you are 60 + or Christina have you done " something " .. common question from greek girl friends ...

I am me and only me ... I wear the same black jeans , same black boots & leather jacket, ok, same as in same model, I have my " hippie " style , the years did go by and I never stopped wearing what I always did love ... never cared much for make up or styled hair ..... or for that matter coloured hair .. and of course I am happy to still look young , but the feeling that some people give away with a smirk - that it is all faked.. is just depressing , actually not fun at all .. because this is me without any help ... !!!

I am simply blessed with thick skin , as a girl told me during a facial many years back , I also have a kind of baby face .... it runs in the family ... a waiter in Athens once thought that my father was my boyfriend ... and my brother had the same baby look !

Yes I have done surgery ... but not in my face , I have removed half of my thyroid 2 times , once on Gotland and the second time in Athens , so there is 2 scars in the front of my neck , I also had to do surgery on my hips , excellent as I now can dance again ...... fun, fun !!

But part from that no nose or breast jobs done .....!!

For the ones of you that think , that we have to dress and act our age ....take a look at Instagram profiles , advancedstyle & iconaccidental , it is really an eye opener , that everything is possible !

I have always been a lot " into greens " since my twenties , and have been eating healthy all my life , I stopped being in the sun when I moved to Greece .. always late on the beach and never stayed long , love the beach but in the shadow .. but still , I have been smoking 30 years & there have been " a couple " of drinks , as some of you know .. stopped when I got pregnant , oh yeah I dont even have stretch marks on my belly , so only good genes .. probably very good !!

Enough me .. ego ... complaining .... lets hope that all this goes away ... and that we all make it a better year ... be kind to each other !!

The only advice I can give in this matter , is eat your fruit , greens , avocado , salmon , laugh and be you ..

Facts are telling us that , sun , smoking & alcohol are the big thiefs , they are making your skin dry , wrinkled and not glowing ... too much alcohol decreases the bodys production of the antidiuretic hormone that helps the body reabsorb water , it is also one of the foods that age you 20 years .. some other are : energy drinks , bacon , ham , sausage , corn syrup , sugar , high glycemic index carbs ( pasta , bagels , cereals ) high salt foods , deep fried foods , trans fats ... so take your pick for a glowing , healthy look !!

It exists also a study that the foods mentioned above can increase memory loss and alzheimers .

January could be the right time for some food - planning or just to organize your fridge it is so much easier to keep oneself on the right road , if things are a bit in order ... I have a very sugary tooth ...as I have told you before , put chocolate in front of me and I eat it not stopping ....

So for me there is , boiled eggs , boiled chickpeas in a spicy broth , different roasted veggies , sesame crusted roasted cauliflower is a hit , a nice vinaigrette , salmon or other extra protein and maybe an avocado - bean hummus .. all in their little boxes , ready to make different things during the week , such as a chickpea salad , a smashed sandwich , a soup , a stir or a big dinner salad and of course you easy make a lovely curry or a naughty pizza for the weekend .. well the list can be so long , just do it !

The more rainbow colours on your plate , the better !!

Here we go again .. maybe ...

I did write some posts back , that I am finished with professional kitchen work ..

But tempting , tempting with new challenges .. I got contacted by someone , who needs an injection in their kitchen ... and with my different food and guest experience through the years , especially the vegetarian side .. all the dishes I have made ...

I will decide until spring ...tell you later .. yes very exciting !!

And fun .. life after sixtie exists ....

Plat de jour !!

I made this lunch - plate above from some greens as you can see , avocado , an orange & a lentil stew with mushrooms , carrots , haricot vertes , seasoning and cream .. absolotely divine , chili , cayenne and cumin made the trick , to get out the good iron in lentils you have to combine with citrus and never add salt until the end !

Nuts is also so good for you ..

Here is an easy and delicious pasta dish .

Walnuts , pine nuts , cream and parmesana cheese ..... fry the nuts quickly in butter , add the cream , let it boil little to reduce and season with sea salt , black pepper and the cheese , short pasta like strozzapreti suits best , and I always sprinkle some chopped parsley on top , bring some friends and enjoy !

Be as always well , your best , dance , sing , laugh , kiss , hugs are good , breath , do some yoga or stretch yourself & listen to music ....

I did listen to some Greek music , probably got the feeling with my daughter there 3500 km away ....
