The streets of Athens
Athina welcomes me with a very strong wind as I am walking the streets where I used to walk my dog more than 20 years before, I love this old streets where you always fall into the thoughts.. who did walk here 2000 years ago, where they on the way to the market as I am .. just had a coffee with Vasilis, the father of my daughter, always nice to see him, we chatted away, in our old neighbor hood..some 10 years ago this street Troon & Thission where very busy new bars and small meze places did open one after the other.. now it seems like they have been forced to close down, as I passes the Thisseion bar street Οδός Ηρακλείδουν I notices so very few places open... it’s so sad what happened to this country.. we really did sell our Μεζεδοπολειο Gramma at the last minute... but I feel in my heart for friends still struggling to make a living... difficult times !!
I have been eating a lot of hummus at Mykonos , I love hummus and it’s so good for you, so when I came upon a new recipe I want to share it.
Carrot & Walnut Hummus
4 medium roasted carrots 1/4 cup toasted walnuts,
combine this with 2 tbsp tahini, lemon juice , garlic, coriander , cumin , cayenne & black pepper in a blender , drizzle some olive oil on top and swirl it creamy
to get it even more healthy you can add some boiled red lentils...whoah if you feel naughty ... eat it with potato chips!!
The wind is really
crazy , my hair is blowing around my head as I walk on my way downtown Athens to meet up with some old friends ...
Athens & Greece is struggling to get back on track ...
Many thoughts is
running in my head and heart as I walk on ...
Always be kind and try to help the people around you... or just smile when you’re out walking it might just make the day for someone ... and it might work as mindfulness for you .. not bad so eat your greens , sing , dance , hug , love and stretch out that body of yours...
Big hug
Chris
