What to Choose !
Troubled times ,. just look at cooking , what to buy how to eat it ,...I have adopted my own foodreligion , my perfect plate .. 75% raw , why , well because after years of reading about health issues , I do believe that ecological greens and fruits are a notch better ,...if not , what to do ....tell me , and I do believe that most of the veggies are to prefer raw , they do loose some nutrition when cooked or even steamed ,..but tomatoes, carrots and spinach are a better choice cooked , and the popular kale ..should not be everyday on your plate ,..then again everyone is their own foodmaster ,.
when it comes to what to buy ,..as they say never eat or buy anything that your grandmother couldnt spell ,...and another thing , why didnt your grandparents have food allergies , and you do ,. and it is worsening with every generation....they ate seasonal real food , processed food and food preservatives where not widely used , they cooked food at home using traditional methods , and eating out was a rare luxury , they didnt eat GMOS ,food additives , stabilizers or thickeners...food was not yet treated with antibiotics and hormones to help preserve shelf life ....they spent lot of time outside , the health of our cells is dependent on diet and lifestyle !!!
So it seems quite important to choose right , fresh , local and ecological cant be wrong , even deepfroozen veggies and berries can be a better choice , than the ones who have been travelling nearly around the world for months ....
to all Starbucks lovers , they insanely for me , dont want any labeling on their products ....they have teamed up with Monsanto .. to sue Vermont over the recently passed GMO labeling initiative ... well as usual it all comes down to money , they and many restaurants dont give a damn what they serve to their customers ,..
I am boycotting Starbucks ,. will You ?
There has been too many things on my plate , lately ....
I had promised you the recipe for the best lentil stew ever ,.in my taste
It is so easy and gets you to another lentil level !!!
You will need boiled green lentils
sautee onions in oil and after a couple of minutes add some garlic , then add whole skin free tomatoes , mash them a bit , add curry of your taste and coconutmilk , now its time for the lentils to blend in and some salt and pepper heat up and serve , you have to be a little bit bold with the measurements ,.. since I did it all as an experiment , but what a lovely idea it was !!
and eat some fruit , or berries after the lentil dish , it is needed vitamin C to get the iron benefits from lentils !!
I got my surgery date , for the hip replacement ,... have been told to eat 3 big and nutrient rich meals a day ,.. plus something in between , have never been eating so much in my whole life .. so am now heading to my kitchen for a crunchy avocado fix .....
this is not from my kitchen ....but it could be !!
Laugh , and laugh more ....very good for stress ,..or try to learn a new yoga pose , take up painting ... or just be you and be well !!!
